Standard Occupational Classification (SOC): Petroleum Engineers

Petroleum Engineers in Healthcare is an unlikely combination of professions as petroleum engineering is primarily focused on the extraction and production of oil and gas, whereas healthcare is focused on providing medical services and treatment to patients. Petroleum engineers typically work in the oil and gas industry, designing and developing methods for extracting petroleum and natural gas from the earth. They do not typically work in healthcare facilities. It is possible that an individual may have a background in petroleum engineering and later transition to a career in healthcare, but the two fields are not directly related.
