Standard Occupational Classification (SOC): Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operators

Paving, surfacing, and tamping equipment operators are skilled workers who operate heavy machinery and equipment to construct, maintain, and repair roads, highways, and other paved surfaces. They typically work in the construction industry, not in healthcare.

In healthcare, there are different types of roles and professions that work with different tools and techniques, such as maintenance personnel, housekeeping staff and healthcare facility managers who are responsible for maintaining and repairing the healthcare facility, including the grounds and the infrastructure. They may also work with outside contractors to perform repairs and maintenance on the building and surrounding grounds, but their main focus is to keep the healthcare facility in a safe and clean condition for patients and staff.

It is unlikely that paving, surfacing, and tamping equipment operators would have a direct role in healthcare, as their skills and expertise are primarily focused on construction and maintenance of roads and other paved surfaces.
