The Orthotic and Prosthetic Innovative Technologies Conference (OPTech) was borne out of a commitment to continuously improve orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) patient care. The intent is to highlight the work of clinicians, scientists, and innovators not only in O&P, but also in the diverse fields of robotics, material science, artificial intelligence, and informatics that may dramatically alter the landscape of O&P. Whereas many conferences focus on technologies and techniques that can be immediately viable in clinical practice, this conference purposefully seeks research and innovations that may not yet be explored for applications in O&P and may be many years from becoming clinically viable.
As a biennial event, OPTech seeks to create a forum for clinicians, scientists, and innovators from diverse fields to collaborate on new and emerging technologies. Thus, allowing these groups to remain on the leading edge of discussing, changing, and fostering new technologies as they arise. The aim of this conference is simple: Educate the public about emerging technologies and innovations, Stimulate investigation of new clinical frontiers, and Unite innovators and investors. Our goal is to attract participants from a wide array of educational and professional backgrounds to help bridge the gap between concept and reality to improve the lives of the patients we serve.
