Standard Occupational Classification (SOC): Motion Picture Projectionists

Motion picture projectionists in healthcare are not typically found as their main role is to operate and maintain motion picture projection equipment in movie theaters and other venues that show films. They set up and adjust the projection equipment, thread film through the projector, and make sure that the film is being projected correctly and at the correct speed. They also troubleshoot and make any necessary repairs to the projection equipment.

It is unlikely that motion picture projectionists would be involved in healthcare-related activities, as healthcare jobs generally require specialized education and training. However, some healthcare facilities may have video projection equipment in conference rooms, auditoriums or other areas to display educational material, videos or presentations to patients, staff or visitors, in such cases, a Motion Picture Projectionist may be involved in setting up, maintaining and troubleshooting the equipment.
