Standard Occupational Classification (SOC): Marine Engineers and Naval Architects

Marine engineers and naval architects do not typically work in healthcare. These job roles are more commonly found in the maritime industry, where they are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining ships, boats, and other marine vessels, as well as the systems and equipment that power and operate them. They also may work on the design and construction of offshore oil and gas platforms, and on the design of harbors and other coastal structures.

In healthcare, there may be similar roles such as Biomedical equipment technicians or engineers that are responsible for the repair, installation, and maintenance of medical equipment. They may also be responsible for the design and construction of medical facilities and equipment.
