Lodging Managers in healthcare settings typically do not exist as Lodging Managers are responsible for managing hotels, motels, resorts, and other types of lodging facilities. They are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the property, including staffing, guest services, and financial management. They may also be responsible for developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies to increase occupancy and revenue.
In contrast, healthcare facilities are focused on providing medical care, treatments, and services to individuals, families, and communities. They do not typically provide lodging for patients or their families, although some facilities such as hospitals may have a limited number of guest rooms for family members of critically ill patients or for patients who are receiving long-term care. These rooms are typically managed by the hospital’s patient support services department, not by lodging managers.
It’s possible that some healthcare organizations have a joint venture with a hotel or lodging facility, in that case, the lodging manager is responsible for managing the lodging operation, but this is not a common scenario.
