Standard Occupational Classification (SOC): Extraction Workers

It is unlikely that there would be a need for extraction workers in a healthcare facility. Extraction workers are typically employed in industries such as mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction, where they are responsible for extracting natural resources from the earth. This may include drilling and blasting rock, operating heavy machinery to remove and transport materials, and using specialized equipment to extract oil and gas from the ground. Extraction workers may work in a variety of environments, including underground mines, open pit mines, and offshore drilling platforms, and may be required to work long and irregular hours, including overnight and on weekends. They must be physically fit and able to withstand the demands of the job, and must follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
