Arbitrators, mediators, and conciliators in the healthcare industry typically have a background in law, psychology, or a related field, and they may be employed by ADR firms, government agencies, or other organizations. They may be responsible for facilitating communication and negotiation between parties, helping parties understand each other’s perspectives, and assisting parties in reaching mutually acceptable agreements. Arbitrators, mediators, and conciliators may also be required to be licensed or certified in order to practice, and they may be required to complete ongoing continuing education to maintain their license.
