Adult basic education, adult secondary education, and English as a second language (ESL) instructors are responsible for teaching academic and language skills to adult learners. In the healthcare industry, these professionals may be responsible for teaching healthcare-specific subjects, such as medical terminology, healthcare ethics, and patient care, to adult learners who are preparing to enter the healthcare field or who are already working in the field but need to improve their knowledge and skills. They may also be responsible for teaching English as a second language to healthcare workers who are non-native English speakers.
