Herd immunity concept is used for vaccination. Also known as population immunity, herd immunity refers to developing immunity within a population due to vaccines or natural immunity. Herd immunity against a virus is achieved by protecting people against the virus, not exposing them. The purpose of herd immunity is to decline the overall amount of virus that may spread in the whole population. Vaccines and herd immunity are critical factors to prevent the spread of viral diseases. One of the herd immunity example is immunity against infectious diseases like Measles, mumps, polio, and chickenpox, which were once common but are now rare.
