Harness the power of the mind

FDA Breakthrough Device Designation

Do you know anyone using Neurolutions IpsiHand upper extremity rehabilitation system?

The IpsiHand is a device designed to assist individuals with chronic stroke in their rehabilitation. It is the first FDA-cleared device that utilizes brain-computer interface technology to improve arm and hand function. The device works by utilizing the uninjured side of the brain to control the movement of a lightweight, adjustable, battery-powered robotic handpiece worn over the affected hand, wrist, and forearm. The robotic handpiece responds to the patient’s thoughts, as measured by a wireless EEG electrode device worn on the head, by opening and closing the affected hand. The IpsiHand offers the potential to regain the ability to perform basic upper extremity tasks essential to daily life for individuals who suffer from post-stroke hemiparesis. Brain-computer interface technology is used to assist patients in chronic stroke rehabilitation by leveraging the patient’s uninjured side of the brain to open and close the robotic handpiece.
