The EYE-SYNC® technology measures the variance of our synchronization abilities
EYE-SYNC® technology is a tool that measures the synchronization abilities of the eyes. It is designed to identify the quality of performance when interacting with visual cues and synchronizing eye movement with a moving object, or gaze fixation. This is important for maintaining stability and balance when in motion. The technology claims to be able to detect conditions such as ADHD, concussion, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders by measuring the specific variance of the synchronization abilities, which acts as a biomarker of impairment and/or pathology.
After completing an EYE-SYNC® assessment, the clinician receives a detailed report with metrics, symptoms and visuals describing the patient’s performance, including the type and severity of dysfunction identified. The report includes specific variance-based measurements highlighting the precision and accuracy of each task and compares results against each eye in order to further understand conjugacy. Additionally, eye recordings for each assessment are available in playback in order to more thoroughly evaluate the patient and identify precisely where gaze errors occur.
The EYE-SYNC® technology is an FDA-cleared tool that is backed by 15 years of clinical research, it’s lightweight and portable, and can provide fast, objective results in less than a minute. However, it should be noted that further independent studies and evaluations are necessary to confirm the validity of the manufacturer’s claims.
