Agili-C™ is a cell-free, off-the-shelf implant that is designed to be used in cartilage and osteochondral defects in traumatic and osteoarthritic joints. The implant is made of a porous, biocompatible, and resorbable bi-phasic scaffold that consists of interconnected natural inorganic calcium carbonate (aragonite). The implantation procedure for Agili-C™ involves preparing a hole in the knee to fit the chosen implant size. According to the manufacturer’s claims, Agili-C™ is intended to help repair cartilage and osteochondral defects.
