Recent global studies have identified clinical documentation demands as a major factor contributing to clinician burnout. The Emirates Health Service (EHS), serving the United Arab Emirates, faced burnout and declining note quality among physicians. To address this, they invested in 3M™ Fluency Direct, an AI-powered speech-recognition solution, aiming to reduce documentation time and enhance note accuracy. The phased implementation approach led to a remarkable 70% systemwide adoption rate. Physicians praised the solution's flexibility and ease of use, with a survey revealing a 94% reduction in documentation time, improved patient satisfaction, increased productivity, and reduced burnout. The success is attributed to recruiting physician champions, on-site training, and hands-on deployment. The EHS plans to extend the solution to dental clinics and public health centers to maintain high adoption rates and enhance patient care.
