The ascent of value-based care is compelling the enhancement of Electronic Health Records (EHRs), which, despite their initial promise to revolutionize healthcare by facilitating seamless communication, improving efficiency, and enhancing patient experiences, have been hindered by fragmented systems and a lack of user-centric design, necessitating the development of intelligent, specialty-specific, and interoperable EHRs capable of identifying trends and risk factors, integrating with other providers, streamlining workflows, and freeing up time for patient care, as practices assess their EHRs' capabilities to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
The promise of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to revolutionize healthcare by enhancing communication, efficiency, and patient experiences has been hindered by fragmented systems and a lack of user-centric design; however, as value-based care becomes more prevalent, there is a growing demand for intelligent, specialized, and integrated EHRs that can streamline workflows, identify population trends, and facilitate whole-person care, driving the need for EHRs to finally deliver on their original potential.
