To make quick, well-informed judgments, healthcare providers depend on detailed patient data. Unfortunately, the legacy healthcare systems that have piled on top of one another have caused our current healthcare ecosystem to develop into a collection of data silos. These data silos were built as a result of deliberate business decisions to hold data, making it more difficult for new entrants, including EHR platforms and practices.
Due in large part to the growing usage of conventional electronic health records (EHRs) and worries about data security, these silos have increased in size and volume over time, further separating patient data. Sharing patient data among healthcare professionals has become challenging as a result.
Healthcare providers rely on detailed patient data for swift, informed decisions. However, legacy systems and data silos hinder the ecosystem's cohesion. These silos stem from deliberate data-holding choices, complicating entry for newcomers like EHR platforms. Concerns about EHRs and data security have exacerbated the problem, impeding data sharing among professionals.
