RCM: Cedar, Google Cloud Partner to Build Gen AI Tools to Improve Healthcare Billing

Cedar, an enterprise financial engagement platform, has announced a strategic collaboration with Google Cloud. In this partnership, Cedar will use Google Cloud's generative AI tools, including Vertex AI, Generative AI App Builder, Document AI, and Contact Center AI, to develop solutions that assist patients in understanding and resolving their healthcare bills.

By leveraging these AI and machine learning solutions, Cedar aims to accelerate the development of large language model (LLM) apps within its Cedar Suite. These apps will educate and guide patients by providing answers to their financial questions and enabling streamlined and personalized communication between healthcare providers, payers, and patients.

The goal is to improve the patient financial experience by bringing more clarity to the entire financial workflow, from pre-visit check-ins and cost estimates to post-visit bill resolution. Cedar believes that by using AI in partnership with Google Cloud, they can make healthcare more accessible and relieve the confusion and financial burden associated with medical bills.

Kinshuk Mishra, head of engineering at Cedar, expressed excitement about this collaboration and emphasized Google's approach to AI safety, which ensures that the tools developed are accurate, reliable, and enhance the patient financial experience.
