Google & ChatGPT Have Mixed Results in Medical Information Queries
According to an interdisciplinary study performed by computer scientists at the University of California, Riverside, both internet information-gathering services have advantages and disadvantages for users looking for details about Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. Clinical scientists from Florida International University and the University of Alabama were on the team.
The researchers discovered that although Google offers the most recent information, service and product suppliers looking for clients distort search results. While ChatGPT offers more unbiased information, it can be out of date and does not include the sources of its knowledge in its narrative responses. Hristidis, a professor, asserted that "if you pick the best features of both, you can build a better system, and I think that this is what will happen in the next couple of years."
