Peterson Center on Healthcare Launches New $50 Million Institute to Evaluate Digital Health Technologies
The Peterson Health Technology Institute (PHTI), a nonprofit organisation that offers unbiased assessments of cutting-edge medical technology to enhance health and save costs, was established by the Peterson Centre on Healthcare today. PHTI, which was established with a $50 million pledge, will provide thorough, evidence-based evaluations that examine the therapeutic advantages and financial implications of digital health solutions, as well as their impacts on health inequalities, privacy, and security.
By revolutionizing delivery, driving improved outcomes, increasing the patient experience, and promoting equity—all while cutting costs—digital health technologies offer a significant potential to improve the performance of the U.S. health system. However, there is currently little knowledge on the effectiveness and performance of the numerous digital health products entering the market for patients, providers, payers, and investors. PHTI will close this knowledge gap.
