The majority of study participants (59%), who used wearable monitors, reported using blood pressure devices. Next in popularity were sleep monitors (21%) and ECG monitors (11%). In the poll, 8% of customers said they utilized biosensors such glucose monitors, hormone monitors, fall detectors, and respiration monitors, while 6% said they used smart apparel.
According to the data analytics company, the market for wearable biosensors alone increased from $150 million in 2016 to $25 billion in 2021. Over the past two decades, there has been a significant expansion in both the use and diversity of consumer health technology products.
