Biden’s National Cybersecurity Strategy calls for market forces, mandates
The AHA, HITRUST and others are encouraged by the plan, and pledge collaboration and support to help make requirements feasible – such as creating security incentives for software companies. In its plans to combat destabilising cybercrime and cyberterrorism, the Biden Administration has proposed a roughly 40-page national cybersecurity policy, according to the American Hospital Association and HITRUST. Healthcare stakeholders have made unambiguous statements about the sophistication of cybercriminals in their calls to the federal government for coordinated action in response to waves of ransomware attacks on hospitals and healthcare institutions. In the National Cybersecurity Strategy report, which was released on Wednesday, President Joe Biden stated that by collaborating with "partners everywhere," the United States is prepared to tackle these cybersecurity problems. Senator Mark Warner expressed his delight at the Biden Administration's prioritisation of the coordination of cyber incident reporting requirements and its "renewed focus on securing the sensitive medical information" in an email.
