To stay on top of the curve, it's crucial to understand the three merger and acquisition trends listed below. Mega-mergers continue to occur. According to a January report from Kaufman Hall, the fourth quarter of 2022 "was one of the most busy quarters" the company had seen since the beginning of the pandemic, with 17 reported hospital and health system transactions in the works. In total, 53 trades took place in 2022. Four of the 17 goals announced in Q4 were met.
