Virtual care enables BrightView Health to increase outpatient access
Telehealth is also extending the behavioral health facility's reach into as many communities as possible: The provider had more than twice as many virtual visits in 2022 than 2021. When the COVID-19 epidemic and related reaction occurred, BrightView Health, a behavioural health clinic that specialised in addiction treatment and substance misuse, was already utilising telehealth. Telehealth was mostly being used by the organisation between its various sites. BrightView, however, lacked a safe platform for synchronous or asynchronous dialogue with patients. Navdeep S. Kang, chief clinical officer at BrightView Health and a fellow with the Obama Foundation, explained that the epidemic and the lockdowns "generated some possible gaps in access to care that we needed to forecast and solve." "To develop secure communications, we examined a number of systems. "We were particularly interested in technology that would enable us to conduct one-on-one consultations in a coordinated manner with a "waiting room" feature.
