While lockdowns were in effect, outpatient clinics were closed and remote diagnostics were increased. We are currently dealing with the effects. People all around the country are coping with long-term physical and mental health concerns, the NHS is dealing with a growing backlog of elective surgery that has reached a record level, and the closing of outpatient clinics meant that new clinical studies were halted or postponed.
