General Catalyst Adds UC Davis Health to List of Health System Partners
In an effort to improve healthcare through the use of digital technology, UC Davis Health has joined the expanding list of health institutions that have partnered with the venture capital firm General Catalyst. General Catalyst, which has worked with numerous American healthcare systems, just signed a similar agreement with Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) in the UK. Chris Bischoff, managing director at General Catalyst, discussed the company's general strategy and its U.S. relationships in an interview with Healthcare Innovation in October. In order to bring about change and transformation in the healthcare industry, he added, "we have a premise that radical collaboration is required amongst healthcare industry executives, entrepreneurs, and investors." "I believe it to be true of the US, but I believe it to be twice as true of Europe.
