Congress Could Enhance Patient Matching, Mitigate COVID-19

May 08, 2020 - Pew Charitable Trusts urged Congress to work with federal agencies, such as the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and the US Postal Service (USPS), to fix current patient matching flaws to work to help re-open the country amid COVID-19.

Ben Moscovitch, project director of Health Information Technology at Pew, wrote that broad vaccination and the ability to effectively contract trace individuals need to happen. Enhanced patient matching is crucial for these two steps to be completed.
