August 26, 2019 - Allscripts announced that Apple Health records is now available for Allscripts Sunrise, TouchWorks, and Professional EHR clients and their patients, making it easy for individuals to see their available health data from multiple providers wherever they choose.
Apple Health Records brings together hospitals, clinics, and the existing Apple Health app to enable patients to access their health data in one view. Previously, an individual’s health information was held in multiple locations, and patients would have to log in to each provider’s website and piece together the information manually.
Built on Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), Apple Health Records takes a consumer-friendly approach and allows patients to view their allergies, conditions, immunizations, lab results, medications, procedures, and vitals all in one place. Individuals will receive notifications when their data is updated, and all data is encrypted and protected with the user’s passcode, Touch ID or Face ID.
