Hundreds of exposed Amazon cloud backups found leaking sensitive data
Healthcare enterprises that use Amazon cloud services may be at risk of data breaches if they don’t select the right configuration settings for Elastic Block Storage snapshots, warns Ben Morris, a senior security analyst at Bishop Fox. Morris’ research found that big firms, including technology companies and health care providers, have inadvertently left data publicly vulnerable, and Morris estimates that the number of exposures could be as high as 1,250.
