Data breach forces medical debt collector AMCA to file for bankruptcy protection
Cybersecurity breaches can create existential problem. The aftermath of the data breach seems to be too much for AMCA to bear.
American Medical Collection Agency, the medical bill and debt collector that suffered a data breach last year involving the theft of information on more than 20 million Americans, has filed for bankruptcy protection. The breach led to numerous lawsuits and a federal investigation.
