Children with chronic kidney disease secondary to congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT), including those with bladder dysfunction, require specialized care to maximize transplant outcomes. Collaboration between urology, nephrology, transplant surgery, pharmacy, nursing, social work, and nutrition is essential. To ensure the bladder is safe to accept a kidney transplant, management options can be varied and can include conservative medical management and surgical interventions. This lecture will provide an overview of children’s management with the complex urologic disease, focusing on specific case presentations.
