The Mayo Clinic Division of Community Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Palliative Care presents "Care of the Older Adult 2024," designed for family practitioners, internists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists. This program covers a wide range of topics crucial to geriatric care, including Alzheimer's dementia, late-life mood symptoms, geriatric trauma, functional assessment, deprescribing, wound management, diabetes, urinary incontinence, COPD updates, chronic pain management, and more. Participants can also engage in an optional Palliative Care Knowledge Self-Assessment (KSA) focused on communication strategies, pain management, ethical considerations, and recognizing palliative care emergencies.
