There is no doubt that health data have the power to serve many medical, societal, or economic objectives. Yet, most entities active in the field still struggle to access and digest health data. In this talk, we consider the case of Belgium, a healthcare champion. We highlight the multiplicity of stakeholders: many data producers, many data consumers, each with specific objectives. We also highlight the fragmentation of regulations, between European, Federal and Regional levels. Having this setting in mind, we sketch what concrete measures could be implemented in order to drastically impact healthcare data-driven innovation.
