Comprehensive clinical assessment is more than just filling out a few forms.  People with disabilities and older people often have multiple and complex care needs, so assessing them is a highly skilled activity. Initial assessments by care managers should identify any health issues which then can be referred to a clinician such as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse, Physiotherapist, or Occupational Therapist for a more in-depth assessment which then allows the health professionals to gain deeper insight into individual needs. Health issues and care needs are best identified through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and person-centred approach to assessment.  The practice of clinical assessment involves the ability to make clinically sound decisions; consequently, the aim of this webinar is to critically develop advanced knowledge and skills to enable you to conduct a robust clinical assessment independently and to identify when referrals are needed.
