Most healthcare organizations provide Telehealth Solutions through their medical plans and patient care philosophy. Urban medical groups provide online portals for patients to access their appointments, message practitioners, review lab results, and schedule future appointments. In rural America medical groups may not be involved, and rural hospitals lack the resources to provide telemedicine solutions to their patients. More importantly, large number of rural individuals do not have access to regular medical care due to proximity and the logistics of traveling hundreds of miles for a single doctors appointment. The need for Rural Telemedicine as a communication methodology between rural resident and medical care has never been greater than during the Covid-19 pandemic. In urban areas Telehealth is addressing the medical needs of patients that are aging and more prone to diabetes, overweight, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol through monitoring and reporting.
