Functional Neuroradiology expands upon high resolution anatomic imaging of the brain and spine. It is defined as imaging of the functional aspects of the central nervous system, which encompasses emerging techniques including Blood Oxygen Level Dependent Functional MRI, Diffusion Imaging, Perfusion Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, Magnetoencephalography, Positron Emission Tomography, Molecular and Metabolic Imaging, and Machine Learning. rom a society that initially focused primarily on blood oxygen level-dependent functional brain imaging, the ASFNR has continued to evolve and now encompasses a broad range of advanced neuroimaging, now focusing on cutting-edge brain imaging technology and research and their translational use.
The Annual Meeting accordingly will be an excellent venue for an in-depth, comprehensive update on advanced neuroimaging that will appeal to a broad audience, including neuroradiologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, physicians, neuropsychiatrists and psychologists, cognitive neuroscientists, biomedical engineers, clinical and research fellows, residents, doctoral and post-doctoral students, and radiology technologists. We have expanded the meeting to take place over 4 days, to ensure adequate time for networking, supplemental programming, and of course for attendees to enjoy exploring the beautiful island of Maui.
