Medicaid managed care serves a vulnerable member segment of people who experience psychosocial challenges that are difficult to manage for a multitude of reasons. Combined factors include poverty level, living in foster care, government subsidized housing, homelessness and housing instability; as well as intellectually and/or developmentally disabled, substance use addictions and dependencies (OUD/SUD) and LGBTQ individuals experiencing unique societal challenges.
