The pandemic has taken an immense toll on healthcare workers' emotional and mental health. Forty-seven percent of physicians reported feeling burned out last year, up from 42 percent in 2020, a Medscape survey found. A separate poll from the American Nurses Foundation found 46 percent of nurses younger than 35 said they are not emotionally healthy.
