This workshop intended to prepare healthcare professional students and faculty and community healthcare providers to prevent, recognize and respond to an opioid overdose.This workshop will include the key knowledge and competencies required to administer naloxone.After completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate stating proficiency in naloxone administration, a free Narcan kit, and a list of addiction treatment resources in Fresno county.
This interprofessional workshop is hosted by SPICE (Students and Practitioners for Interprofessional Collaboration and Education), which is an interprofessional collaborative of healthcare professional students, faculty and healthcare providers from CHSU, Fresno State, and Fresno county, with participation from local first-responders and sponsorship from the makers of Narcan.
