To support infection control and clinical care teams and satisfy accreditation compliance requirements, facilities staff in a hospital operates and maintains a variety of critical and pressurized spaces. Unfortunately, the built environment may be having a negative impact on patient outcomes due to improper pressure relationships and infrequent inspection, testing, and maintenance activities. Learning objectives are review the various standard requirements for pressurized spaces for hospital facilities engineers, specify systems and equipment that support a monitoring plan for pressurized spaces, educate the hospital staff on how to create a pressurized spaces program, identify the available resources for hospital facilities engineers to develop a pressurized spaces program.
