Innovation Talk: The Digital Hospital | Schneider Electric

During this innovation talk we’ll discuss the evolution of the digital hospital, how far we have come and the steps we need to take to create a truly connected, digital hospital environment. Every touchpoint of a patient’s journey can involve technology, from the carpark to admissions desk to patient rooms and operating theatres. This discussion will address the digital possibilities that a hospital can leverage to enhance a patient’s experience whilst creating a safe and comfortable environment to aid with recovery. The transfer of information between systems is essential to allow optimal performance in a healthcare environment. For example, how can the environment of a patient room be optimally controlled so that energy is minimised whilst patient comfort is ensured? These digital capabilities can be extended throughout the whole hospital ecosystem. We will also discuss how intelligent infrastructure can improve operational efficiency, energy efficiency and how it can support the NHS ambition to become net zero by 2040, without compromising patient care.
