Achieving Value-Based Care Through the Payvider Model
A year ago, Sentara Health launched One Sentara, a rebranding initiative to unify its healthcare and health plan services. Leveraging technology, Sentara’s IT team migrated most data to Microsoft Azure and integrated patient care and insurance data into an enterprise data platform (EDP) for a 360-degree customer view. This enables personalized service and predictive analytics for early intervention. By adopting the "payvider" model, which combines healthcare and insurance, Sentara supports value-based care to improve outcomes and lower costs. The organization has also streamlined processes, such as automating prior-authorization, to speed care delivery. Sentara’s EDP integrates CRM software, providing call center staff with a complete patient view to enhance customer experience and service efficiency.
