Ensuring Better Patient Experience And Outcomes Through Artificial Intelligence
When integrated successfully, artificial intelligence can lead to better patient outcomes. Being a patient is already hard. At best, routine medical care can be a nuisance to schedule, usually requires time off work and comes with a copay. When it’s bad, it can be really bad: an accident or illness that results in a visit to the emergency department (ED) or an overnight stay in the hospital. This makes the patient experience especially hard in healthcare. Sixty-eight percent of patients said their healthcare providers need to improve how they interact with patients. We know health systems are having a harder time delivering care, and the pandemic and staffing shortages haven’t helped. Yet, patients now expect new levels of transparency across all aspects of their lives—if ride-hail and food delivery can do it, they expect healthcare to be the same.
