Home Care Groups Implore CMS to end Ongoing Home Health Reimbursement Cuts

Home care advocacy groups are urging the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to cease ongoing cuts to Medicare home health reimbursement. The National Association for Home Care & Hospice and Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare highlighted the detrimental impact of reimbursement reductions on both providers and patients. They emphasized the importance of engaging with stakeholders and Congress to address the crisis. The implementation of the Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM) in 2020 has exacerbated financial challenges for home health providers, diverting billions of dollars away from the industry. The groups called for CMS to halt further reductions and consider rate increases to ensure sustainable access to home health services.
