Using the Digital Front Door to Inform Decision Making and Deployment of Care Resources
Over the last year, hospitals across the country have been operating on low resources, whether it be PPE, staff, capacity, or vaccines. Leaders implemented many strategies and tools to help ease this strain, producing key learnings that apply to care delivery outside of the pandemic.
Digital health tools such as conversational virtual assistants played a vital role in understanding patient needs and automating countless hours of valuable staff time spent on care navigation. Outside of the direct impact on call center reduction and improved care utilization, health systems act on insights from these tools to optimize resource deployment and respond in real- time to changes in patient needs.
