Augmedix, Andor Health Collaborate for Ambulatory Virtual Care

Augmedix and Andor Health are collaborating with oVRcome, a New Zealand-based virtual reality and cognitive behavioral therapy company, to address the challenges faced by autistic individuals in medical settings. oVRcome's VR-based exposure therapy platform aims to reduce appointment cancellations by helping autistic individuals navigate hospital environments and social interactions. The program, initiated with the U.K.'s National Health Service (NHS), will immerse participants in virtual environments where they can practice behavioral techniques to manage anxiety and discomfort. This innovative approach leverages technology to provide tailored therapy, aiming to improve access to healthcare services for individuals on the autism spectrum. The pilot program, starting in August, underscores the growing trend of using VR and cognitive behavioral therapy to address phobias and anxiety-related challenges in healthcare settings.
